I personally miss old GW2's Lion's Arch (GW1 LA was different yet again) because of all the architecture built from boats... A lot of high, interesting spots I liked to climb while waiting for people. It's a much more level city now.
This is the really awesome signature you are looking for.
Its turned more into a seashore resort instead of having the old pirate aesthetic its known for.
Funny that you mentioned a seashore resort.... The consortium wanted to build a resort on southsun, we all know how well that went... And now they're the one that funded/took care of the rebuilding of Lion's Arch. Coincidence?
how I look at it is this way. I feel long running players who played before living story season 1 and 2 love the original LA. We made it a home, spent many hours there. It was a focal point for a lot of events like Christmas, Halloween, Dragon bash etc etc etc. Then after all the blood, sweat, tears spend during living story fighting Scarlett and her army i feel we lost a lot and original LA will always be in our hearts.
Then you have new players who never experienced it, and with the overall look being much cleaner, nicer looking (like a resort) they tend to like the new LA better.
