Hey guys,
I'll be creating a new character tonight, I haven't decided on the class yet, but probably a Ranger... Sylvari Ranger.

I was talking with Eve the other day, and she mentioned she was playing a new character and wasn't taking waypoints, and was waiting to get res by a player. I'm thinking of actually trying that.

Hardcore Mode
  • New characters
  • No Waypoints
  • Can only rez, by being rezzed by someone else.
  • No buying stuff on TP, or crafting from Alts
  • No armor repair, damage armor stays damage. Broken armor is deleted.
  • If you die somewhere no one can rez you (middle of lava), you must delete your character

Hardcore Dungeons
  • Can't restart from waypoint
  • If the whole party is dead, you need to quit the dungeon

Who's in?

What do you mean by "being rezzed"? Are you talking being revived? How's this work and how do you manage to avoid waypoints? Guess you have at least one where you start?

well if you die. Someone needs to revive you, you can't just click a waypoint to revive yourself.

And yes, you can avoid waypoints. There's not a single spot in game that you can't get too without taking a waypoint (You can take Asura gates)

added more info.

Also someone pointed out that if we die in Lava, or somewhere that no one can reach us to res us... well that means your character is done for, so you'll have to delete it.

Oh Ok..

So no equipment/weapons other than what you find. No point in gathering since you're not crafting. Just wander around killing creatures and doing whatever event you find in order to level up. And if you die, you stay dead until either someone you know comes to get you up or a random passerby happens to get you up. That does sound challenging.

That's either gonna be really fun and tense or incredibly boring and grindy.
